Design Sales Engineer

Salary: £30,000 + Bonus + Car + Private Medical (negotiable)

Job Description

Working with an established design team, this employee will be developed to become a leading-edge designer in the specialist areas of building service engineering offered by the company who are the sole distributers for Gator/Duct and Air₂O Hybrid Air Conditioning units in the UK and UAE.

This individual is responsible for the study and evaluation of project design and specifications and the estimation of labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs for all such projects tender by the company.

Work consists of specific projects, the employee is expected to make technical decision with the scope to achieve design criteria, develop the project budgets and deliver a first-class design and build package to enable the contracts team to deliver the system installation without major issue.

Typical Duties

Typical duties will include but not limited to the preparation of the following:

Develop mechanical design and specifications to achieve the ser design criteria
Determine material and equipment costs by referring to catalogues and through personal contacts with vendors and suppliers
Estimates labour costs by studying previous projects final cost records by cost analysis and by unit cost guides based on national averages
Determines supervision, office, inspection and other overhead costs on the basis of estimates of time required for completion of projects
Prepares reports covering all estimated costs; submits for management approvals
Plans, designs and prepares specifications for the supply and installation of industrial and commercial building service systems
Performs related work as required

Education/Experiences:

ONC & HNC Building Services Engineering
2 years field experience
Considerable knowledge of the methods, techniques and practices of building services air conditioning systems
Considerable knowledge of the sources of information for labour, material and equipment costs
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans, blueprints and specifications
Must be physically fit as Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25kg
