Business Area/Dept Overview
The Data Rights Request (DRR) role sits within 1LOD Data Office.
The DRR role reports directly to the Data Protection Correspondent and will work closely with HR towards ensuring that UK activities comply with the requirements of applicable data protection regulations, including the DPA and GDPR.
This role requires excellent data protection knowledge ideally with a paralegal background.
Purpose & Scope of role
•The purpose of the DRR role is to ensure that BNPP adheres to and complies with applicable data protection laws and relevant codes of practice. The DRR Specialist sits at the 1st line of defence and their main role is to interpret laws and regulations into practical operational advice that can be implemented by Business lines and Functions. The DRR Specialist will be responsible for working with these areas to ensure data protection awareness, culture and embedded best practice.

Key Responsibilities of role
•Manage the full end-to-end process including responding to data subject access requests (DSAR) including, reviewing data and assessing for personal data content, identifying and redacting privileged, confidential and non-personal data (with the assistance of Legal where necessary), creating response packs and management of SAR documentation as well as working with working with external legal counsel when utilised.
•Support preparation of relevant responses to inquiries from the Information Commissioner Officer or any other legal or regulatory body.
•Maintain all relevant policies and procedures, ensuring they are compliant with current laws and codes of conduct.
•When required support the 1LOD Data Office on DP matters.
•The DRR Specialist will liaise with the UK Data Protection Correspondent for direction, best practice and alignment of data protection subjects.
•Day-to-day the DRR Specialist will be the interface with the employee requesting a DSRR and manage the process end-to-end including liaising with external law firms and in-house functions as required.
•The role works closely with Legal and the right candidate will need to know and keep up-to-date with the relevant law and understand its practical interpretation. The candidate will need to take advice issued by Legal and devise creative and practical implementation plans to ensure compliance with the law in potentially difficult circumstances with conflicting objectives.
