These companies make RSK Group one of the UK’s largest site investigation service providers. We are now looking to recruit a Ground Investigation Data Manager to join the team in Bristol. Ground Investigation Data Manager - Bristol A Ground Investigation Data Manager is required to join our established Data Management Team, to support the operations of Structural Soils Limited and the wider RSK Group. Geotechnical and geo-environmental data is obtained by the Company in the course of its works by various methods, ranging from handwritten field notes such as soil and rock descriptions, tabulated numerical results, computer generated data files and mobile data capture. This information is entered into specialist Windows based software (gINT) and is used in the Company’s technical work. The Ground Investigation Data Manager is a member of the Data Management Team who administrate and develop the software system, support a large user base of >100 users and perform specific project work on both major and minor geotechnical projects as required. The successful candidate has the opportunity to learn and develop specialist skills within a team of experienced data management professionals supported by the Associate Director for Data Management who has almost 20 years experience in the field. GeoData is a rapidly growing field within the ground investigation industry and this is an excellent opportunity to join an established, forward thinking and successful team. The role holder’s duties would include: Implement regular improvements of gINT software systems in relation to database design (structure and lookups), report design (new report functionality and improvements to existing templates) and ultimately coding in the gINT Rules environment to support to workflow and customisations available within our system Author and implement data management plans for contracts as required. Work with the other members of the DMT to review and refine aspects of DMPs and assist the team in effectively resourcing large contracts Manage company GINTRANET (intranet pages) alongside production of user guides, resource documentation and field sheets Work on any bespoke data management tasks as required both using gINT and other specialist or non-specialist software packages Ensure adequate support and training is provided to the Assistant Data Managers in all aspects of their role to assist in day to day tasks and help grow their capabilities. Provide support to the Assistant Data Managers with troubleshooting, helpdesk and system updates queries Major projects assistance in the form of data gathering, validation, analysis, reporting and archiving Interact with clients and senior staff regarding data management related queries, project meetings and support Second line back-up support to Assistant Data Managers, where required, for all gINT related queries including inductions, training and troubleshooting Act as second line for generation and consumption of AGS data file deliverables including the peer review and training in this area for the Assistant Data Managers in the team. Design training materials for staff to use relating to gINT functionality and other deployed development tasks Research assistant to the senior data management staff on any aspects of future developments on the system Communicating with other staff verbally, either directly or by phone, and by email where necessary Training would be given to provide the specialist knowledge of our systems as required.
