As a Contracts Manager, your role will be diverse and split into two areas. Firstly, you will be accountable for leading the application of internal governance and improving transactional efficiency.
In addition you will also lead the preparation of complex proposals, execution of current contracts, contract changes, and claims in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, contractual provisions and company policy, while minimising commercial risk and maximising business success.
This position will provide you with the opportunity to work with both internal and external stakeholders and provide you with the scope to progress within a growing organisation.
Your main responsibilities as a Contracts Manager will involve:
Lead by example through engaged leadership, strong collaboration and effective contribution to the function and the business
Maintains strategic knowledge of the customer environment and business context
Provide guidance to the function and the business on internal governance matters
Manage functional reporting obligations under the Operational Framework and Lifecycle Management processes
Build relationships across the Electronic Systems sector to influence policy and process, share best practice and ensure appropriate local implementation
Proactive in engaging other functions and businesses to enhance the Commercial solution through the application of lessons learned and continuous improvement
Responsible for drafting complex contracts/agreements and proposals and leading moderately complex negotiations (including preparing the negotiation strategy)
Accountable for the identification of risks and opportunities for moderately complex proposals and contractual matters
Your skills and qualifications:
Broad experience of business winning tools and techniques and familiarity with the appropriate application of Lifecycle Management and Operational Framework
Proven experience of being able to negotiate and influence with both internal and external stakeholders. It is essential that the successful incumbent can demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work within a challenging environment
Demonstrable experience of providing guidance on internal governance, developing processes and implementing continuous improvement
Wide range of Commercial experience in a variety of contracting environments, ideally with experience of dealing with overseas and UK companies
