Job Summary Driving innovation isn’t new to Travelers — we’ve been on the cutting edge for more than 160 years. In this rotation, the participant will drive transformation with the following key responsibilities. A new and exciting role has opened here at Travelers Europe for an innovative and energised individual to fill a 12-month secondment. The successful candidate will assist transformation by working closely with the Innovation Scout EMEA and Travelers Global Evangelist Network. Assisting in developing innovation ecosystems (the people and resources required to support innovation), you will engage start-ups and help research external technologies to solve problems as well as manage internal and external relationships. A key responsibility will be to monitor and report on competitor innovation actions and successes, and provide regular updates and reporting to the Management/Operating Committee, iCouncil, Evangelists and other constituencies. A big part of the role is to actively promote and champion innovation, fostering an innovation mindset within areas right across our business. The candidate must therefore be able to build strong relationships and be a key influencer. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities Do you have the following skills? This is a 12-month temporary assignment for a mid-level professional and an excellent development opportunity. This role has flexibility in terms of location, although will require at least two days in the London offices and international travel from time to time. The role will suit a mid-level professional interested in looking beyond how insurance works today. On an day to day basis you will; Support innovation Scout in their role to develop innovation ecosystems, engage startups and track progress, research external technologies to solve TRV business problems and more broadly manage relationships both internal and external to Travelers. Engage with Evangelist network and support their responsibility to foster an innovation mindset within their areas by championing, cultivating and supporting the innovation agenda. Monitor and report on competitor innovation actions and successes. Leveraging the key criteria outlined by the iCouncil, and in conjunction with ERM, actively monitor, report and analyze competitor innovation activity, working to assess an innovation ROI. Competitors in the analysis include, but are not limited to, domestic & international P&C carriers (Chubb, Liberty, Intact, etc.), financial services companies (AXA, Allianz, etc.) and others interested in the insurance space (Google, Amazon, etc) Assist with management reporting on innovation efforts and progress. Support the regular updates and reporting to Management/Operating Committee, iCouncil, Evangelists and other constituencies.
