We are looking for Computer Systems Validation Specialist for out Laboratory Sciences group who will manage departmental spreadsheets, data software capture systems and equipment to ensure that they comply with the requisite regulations including compliance to principles of GLP where appropriate. To be responsible for, and advise on the need for, validation (including regular evaluation of validation status) and routine maintenance/calibration of laboratory equipment (and associated facility services) for Laboratory Sciences. To design, execute and report equipment/facility validations according to GLP. To act as Responsible person for generic equipment.
We are seeking a Computer Software Validation (CSV) Specialist for our Laboratory Support Group located in Elphinstone, Tranent.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Managing departmental spreadsheets
Managing data software capture systems and equipment
Advising on the need for validation and routine maintenance/calibration of laboratory equipment
Designing, executing and reporting equipment/facility validations according to GLP
Working with the other CSV specialist and the Continuous Improvement Specialist in the Laboratory Support Group to improve processes and workflows by implementing new equipment
The following are minimum requirements related to the position:
A degree or higher qualification in Computing or a Scientific discipline
Some experience and/or interest in CSV
Good organizational skills and the ability to run meetings effectively
A proven record in working within and across teams effectively
About the Laboratory Support Group
We are establishing a Laboratory Support Group to cover both Pharmaceutical and Agrochemical Laboratory Sciences Groups that will be responsible for providing necessary support to the Laboratory Sciences Divisions. This support includes Computer Systems Validation, Sample management, Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma projects) and equipment metrology. The vacancy will be within the Computer Systems Validation team and will report to the Manager of the Analytical Chemistry team.
Salary banding for this position is £24,411 - £25,497. Successful candidates will be appointed to the bottom of the pay band if they have no relevant experience.
In exceptional circumstances where the candidate has relevant equivalent experience, this will be taken into consideration.
