Compliance Manager (Health and Safety)
£40,000-£42,000 per annum plus excellent benefits package and essential car user allowance
36 hours per week
Our client is a Housing Association with 6,500 homes working across East Surrey and Sussex. They build homes for those that can’t meet their housing needs in the market and in doing so they help them change their lives.
They are currently seeking a Health and Safety and Compliance Manager who will be responsible for ensuring that they meet Health and Safety (H&S) requirements, particularly in areas of statutory compliance such as the management of asbestos, fire risks, water safety (Legionella), contractors, CDM and site and office H&S. This role is the lead for H&S, advising on best practice and legislative changes, providing an audit function, acting as a role model and champion for Health and Safety awareness and driving and delivering the Health and Safety and Compliance action plan. In this role, the job holder will be supported by and will manage a Contract Surveyor.
The successful applicant will have relevant qualifications, such as CMIOSH or NEBOSH NVQ level 4 or equivalent and knowledge and experience of managing asbestos, fire and water safety, CDM procedures and general H&S management in a housing/landlord/construction/ maintenance environment. He/She will have excellent communication/report writing and project management skills, be highly organised, IT proficient and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
The jobholder will be required to hold a full UK driving licence and own a reliable own means of transport.
