JOB TITLE: Chef / Catering Team Leader
LOCATION: Burnley, Lancashire
SALARY & BENEFITS: £20,968 per annum
WORKING HOURS: Full Time- 37.5hrs per week - Working between the hours of 8am and 7pm Monday until Sunday (5 DAYS FROM 7)
THE COMPANY: Pendleside exists to promote and enhance quality of life for people with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers; by delivering specialist and holistic palliative care, which addresses their individually assessed physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.
THE ROLE: A vacancy has arisen for a Chef to join the Hospice Catering Department.
This is a full time position, supporting the Catering & Domestic Services Manager. Flexibility will be essential as will the ability to apply your culinary ability with positivity and enthusiasm.
THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate will be passionate about food coupled with excellent culinary skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to lead a team. Good interpersonal skills are essential to be able to interact with fellow work colleagues, volunteers and service users. You should have a good understanding of food safety and health and safety management, including being IT literate.
This appointment is a vitally important and valued role within the Hospice.

- Will live within a commutable distance of the Burney area
- Will ideally have experience within the same sector (Catering/Hospitality)
- Must hold an NVQ Level 3 and OR City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2
