We are seeking a CAD Room / Archive Manager (maternity cover) with a Design background, reporting to the Head of Design-Home, to provide the smooth running of the CAD room at Laura Ashley Head Office. This role will also be responsible for managing the Laura Ashley Archive, with 2 direct reports, one in London and the other at our Newtown site.
This key role is for approximately 9 – 12 months and involves looking after Epson printers, PC workstations, calibrating printers, trouble-shooting problems as they occur, training new Designers on Kaledo Textile Design Software, and supporting existing Designers on Kaledo.
Other responsibilities include scanning and cleaning up Home Furnishings and Fashion designs ready for colour work, understanding and responding to critical path for development work, and putting designs into repeats for fabrics and wallpaper.
An important part of the role is the use of textile design software – specifically Kaledo (previously U4ia) so previous experience of using this, or similar software is essential.
You must have at least 5 years’ experience in Design, preferably within Home Furnishings and possess a relevant taste level for Laura Ashley.
You will be enthusiastic and flexible, a team player, possess effective communication skills and be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
You must be highly motivated, and have a true empathy for the Laura Ashley and a design qualification e.g. degree, combined with a rounded design background is essential.
