Clothing Buyer Location: Central Support Office, Crawley Salary: Competitive salary depending on experience Closing Date: Tuesday 30 October 2018 Clothing Senior Buyer We are looking for a driven and detail oriented technical clothing buyer with strong relationship building skills and a great knowledge of the cycling industry, focused predominantly on helmets, shoes, eyewear and apparel. About the Role We are looking for a professional and experienced Senior Buyer to lead a fast-paced, technical sports goods buying team with proven experience in a seasonal, technical clothing buying role. You will be responsible for curating profitable store and web ranges for the clothing category - Branded and Private Label - with a high degree of autonomy, so will need to be self-motivated and show strong attention to detail. Buying experience and strong negotiation/communication skills are essential along with proven team leadership and ability to deliver to set commercial targets. Evans Cycles caters to an extremely varied customer base so you will be required to build and maintain relationships with a wide network of distributors and brands, and in doing so will deliver the best products at the best possible prices so that the Evans customer can feel confident they’re getting the most out of riding with us. About you: You will: Ensure we have the most modern, relevant and exciting products on the market that will differentiate Evans from its competitors and offer a compelling reason to shop with us. Manage and develop a team consisting of a Junior buyer, Assistant Buyer and Buying Assistant to ensure top performance at all times. Have continued awareness of market trends, brands and competitor activity Curate profitable product ranges and manage promotional calendars to exceed financial objectives Deliver category plans consistent with overall commercial strategies Work closely with the Merchandising team to maintain sustainable growth Collaborate with Marketing, Ecommerce, Retail, Logistics and Finance departments to maximise commercial potential Maintain and create productive supplier relationships to maximise sales, profit and margin in line with category objectives Analyse sales, stock and pricing, constantly looking for opportunities to drive growth and/or clear slow moving stock Have a good understanding of Microsoft Office programs Be a strong communicator Be aware that stock forecasting, maintaining pre-order schedules, visual merchandising and ad hoc buying admin are all crucial to this role About Us: We’ve come a long way from the local shop in Kennington Road, London in 1921.
