Park Royal Business Group Manager

Hours: Due to the nature of the role, flexible working will be required. Note that events (approx. one a month) are often early morning or late afternoon/ early evening. 2-year fixed term contract.

Our client is a membership body that provides businesses of the UK’s largest industrial and commercial estate with a strong voice. Home to more than 2,000 businesses and over 40,000 jobs, they are a major economic contributor to London and the wider UK economy. They are a centre of excellence for a number of sectors ranging from food & beverages to the creative industries, and includes both global brands and thriving SMEs.
They are currently looking to recruit a Group Manager to Provide secretariat, marketing and administrative services to the group and their board, and support them in achieving their objectives, particularly by: providing initial advice and signposting locally by email or phone; ensuring a timely flow of information to local businesses; promoting the role of the business group and helping substantially grow their membership.
•Arrange Board meetings and produce meeting documentation
•Manage casework/ correspondence, including logging, tracking, coordinating and drafting responses.
•Responsible for delivering communications and engagement strategy, preparing materials such as newsletters, social media content, as well as handling enquiries from local businesses by phone, email and through face-to-face meetings.
•Proactively monitor and research local issues relevant to the company
•Support local businesses in accessing services offered by our client the local authorities and other relevant bodies, acting as a first point of contact for businesses.
•Develop and deliver engagement activities to raise awareness of our clients new free ‘Associate membership’ to substantially build the group’s membership, supported by the Member Services Manager and partners.
•Collaborate with the Events & Policy Manager in planning and promoting the events programme.
•Maintain up-to-date lists of all businesses and the Membership on Salesforce CRM database.
•Draft monthly monitoring reports
•Perform the role and manage resources in accordance with policies and procedures
•Realise the benefits of a flexible approach to work in undertaking the duties and responsibilities of this job, as well as participating in multi-disciplinary team with a wide range of external partners.
•Advice/ signposting to local businesses seeking support, requesting input from colleagues when required.
•Identification of business leads, communication needs and engagement methods and practices.
•Identifying and selecting suitable external communications content for PRBG.
•Liaising with: Chief Executive (line manager); OPDC’s Park Royal Programme Manager (fortnightly check ins); PRBG Board Members and any volunteers.
•Daily communications with PRBG members, potential members and supporters through email, telephone, post, and face-to-face.
•Coordinate with internal team (Member Services Manager, Policy & Events Manager) to secure input on communication collateral and engagement events scheduling.
•Design and printing companies for some publications.
The Ideal Candidate:
•Educated to or working towards level 5 – Degree, Higher Apprenticeship or equivalent
•Working with the general public or businesses
•Presenting information in a factual and concise manner
•Experience with an engagement or community building team either working professionally or as a volunteer.
•Project management, communication and events coordination processes.
•Ability to organise own workload and work as part of a team.
•Understanding of the political context of London including the relationship between businesses, Local Authorities, the GLA and OPDC.
•Demonstrable ability and experience of providing secretariat support and managing meetings.
•Excellent communication skills
