Our client Chemetall, is the global Surface Treatment business unit of BASF's Coatings division.
Due to continued success the company is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager. The purpose of this role is to ensure the company’s business continues to grow in a profitable manner in line with strategic objectives. The successful candidate will be flexible as this is a field based role with extensive travel.
The position entails developing new business within the Aerospace market and providing technical support to the existing customer base. This will be achieved by having a proactive, hands on management approach working as a team player with customer service and others departments. Excellence in customer service is a pre-requisite to support the growth targets required.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
•Self-generate leads and convert to customers. Maximise sales within existing and new accounts.
•Identify decision makers, commercial and technical; maintain regular personal contact with customers by means of regular customer visits and telephone/e-mail communication.
•Be responsible for all sales leads directed from head office and convert from potential customer to customer. Maximise sales within these accounts.
•Provide support for products and processes, to ensure they operate at best performance giving optimum customer satisfaction.
•Gain an in depth understanding of the products, customer business, products, markets, competitors etc. to enable the company to provide a service which matches their requirements and allows us to build a strong supplier/customer partnership.
•Be responsible for maintaining and maximising the sales margins at an acceptable level to the company.
•Ensure letters, quotations and proposals are completed accurately and on time to appropriate company standards.
•Ensure all reports requested by the company are completed and met within the time scales allocated.
•Assist with the preparation and achievement of the Profit Plan.
•Assist with the implementation of price increases.
•Attend and contribute at Sales meetings and assist in training as necessary.
•Co-ordinate with Product Support and Product Development in their duties and activities.
•Carry out any additional duties from time to time as agreed with Sales Management.
