Business Development Manager – Competitive Salary + Benefits – Edinburgh, Scotland
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to be a part of a growing Data Management and Analytics Consultancy within the sales team. As a Business Development Manager, you will primarily be focused on driving new business sales throughout Scotland.
To be successful in this role, you will have at least 5 years’ experience with a proven track record in securing new business and developing long lasting business relationships. The ideal candidate would have experience in Financial Services and a consultative selling approach. Previous experience selling consultancy services would be a bonus. The role will be based at our office in the city centre of Edinburgh although travel would be expected across the central belt.
The key responsibilities of a Business Development Manager include, but are not limited to:
•Driving new business sales throughout Scotland via cold calls, networking events and conferences, identifying new sales leads and following up accordingly
•Promoting the BDP business and brand at events and conferences through presentations and sales pitches
•Maintaining relationships with existing clients, identifying their particular needs to match them to BDP’s consulting base, as well as securing new clients

The key skills and qualities of a Business Development Manager:
•Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a field-based new business sales capacity; ideally someone who has worked in Financial Services or consultancy sales
•Natural networker and influencer who enjoys meeting new potential clients, promoting and securing business via events, conferences, meetings or calls
•Excellent interpersonal skills, with a heavy client focus who is keen to take time to understand the client and their needs
•Commercially aware, with a strong focus on maximising revenue generating opportunities
•Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with effective negotiating and influencing skills and a strong attention to detail
