Job Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
As an Assistant Accountant at Squire Patton Boggs, you'll be joining a close knit Management Accounts Team on a fixed term contract for 12 months. Reporting to the Partnership Accountant, you'll be responsible for supporting the financial aspects of the partners' interests in Squire Patton Boggs UK LLP ('UK LLP'), ensuring compliance with the UK LLP Members Agreement. Assistant Accountant - Our Team:
Our Finance Team in Leeds is a large team made up of Management Accounts, Accounts Payable, Database and Billing, Credit Control and Client and Office Accounts. The Team provide centralised support for all of the UK offices and take pride in providing a world class service to the firm's internal and external clients.
Assistant Accountant - Our Opportunity:
You will work closely with the Partnership Accountant to manage the financial aspects of the partners' interests in Squire Patton Boggs (UK) LLP and ensure compliance with the UK LLP Members Agreement. You will be responsible for the administration of profit share to partners so will liaise with HR on packages, bonus and benefits.
You will be the main point of contact for partners for the processing and receipt of capital, supporting tax queries and other administrative tasks. You will work closely with partners during the on-boarding and off-boarding process, specifically with new partners on their transfer to self- employed tax status.
You'll also support UK LLP Group control account reconciliations at a transactional level as well as the accounting, reporting and taxation relating to the Partners' Charitable Trust.
Assistant Accountant - You:
To be considered for this position you must have at least five years' experience working within a finance environment. Prior experience or understanding of a LLP or the structure of law firms would be an advantage.
You will be technically savvy with previous experience of using general ledger and Microsoft packages. A good understanding of establishing databases and implementing a filing system would be advantageous but not essential.
You'll be a discrete and organised individual, an effective communicator with a resilient personality who is comfortable when dealing with conflict situations. You'll be able to work well in a team and will be pro-active with a keen eye for detail.
