We are currently working with 9,100 offenders in ten prisons, delivering high quality courses that range from basic literacy to the arts. The Offender Learning and Skills Service are available to all serving prisoners and offers a range of training opportunities. We also offer over 600 different qualifications ranging from a BTEC in Construction and the Built Environment to a GSCE Mathematics and a Diploma in Painting and Decorating. In order for the education teams to provide life changing training to prisoners across the UK they must be supported by an efficient and effective back office team. The education department at HMP Bedford is looking for an administrator. As the Administrator you will be responsible for ensuring that the administration systems and processes operate in a timely and effective manner, adhering to all quality standards. Key responsibilities of the appointed Administrator will include; Accurately inputting data on to the Management Information System database. Handling communication with internal & external customers. Handling administration in accordance with company procedures. General office duties including filing. General prison admin duties. Responsible for ensuring that all paperwork accepted in to the Administration department is of a high quality and is submitted within set timescales. To be considered for the role of Administrator you will have; Good knowledge of IT based systems. An ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload. Well-developed interpersonal skills. Good oral and communication skills. Maturity to deal with people with challenging behaviour. High standard of confidentiality and discretion at all times. Great attention to detail. Experience of working in an administration environment. Appointment and start date is subject to undertaking and receiving prison clearance which can take between 2-12 weeks.
