An opportunity has arisen for a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant to join our clients Employability team in The North on a full time permanent basis.

The post holder will play a key part in supporting participants with mental health challenges, understanding how their mental health condition is affecting them in the workforce and provide them with a flexible and personalised support programme, utilising a mixture of face to face and technology based interventions.
The post holder will provide a skilled holistic assessment and deliver evidence-based health focused interventions to participants on the programme, utilising their specialist skills, knowledge and experience to provide participants’ with advice, guidance and support tailored to the participants’ individual needs. The post holder will take a holistic approach to long-term health condition management and work closely with the participants’ employer (if appropriate), other employees and health services to help people improve their lives.
Duties will include:
• Conducting an initial holistic assessment with the participant.
• Developing a Support Plan and Communication Plan with the participant, focusing on improving their health and enabling them to stay in, or return to work.
• Providing face to face, telephone and live chat based interventions to participants.
• Providing an Out of Hours Service on a rota basis.
• Offering advice and guidance to participants with regard to their health conditions and empowering individuals to manage their health more independently and effectively.
• Monitoring participants’ mental health and tailoring interventions to their individual needs as changes occur.
• Providing return to work guidance and offer in-work support as required, liaising with employers when appropriate to do so.
You will need to have the following skills and experience:
To be registered as a health professional with one or more of the following regulatory bodies as below:
o Psychologist registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
o Occupational Therapist registered with the HCPC.
o A counsellor/therapist registered as an Accredited Practitioner with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
o An Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist registered with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
o Mental Health Nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
A driving licence is required and flexibility to travel to appointments in community settings and visiting participant workplaces. The coverage area will be the North of England.
Demonstrate a passion and an interest in empowering participants to effectively manage their mental health conditions to enable them to stay in or return to employment.
Working knowledge of the holistic approach to healthcare. (Biopsychosocial Model)
Evidence of applying the principles of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and/or, Motivational Interviewing and/or Brief Solution Focused Therapy approaches to participants.
Ability to assess and build support plans for a wide range of mental health difficulties.
Must be adaptable and flexible and be able to react positively to ongoing change.
2 years post-qualifying experience working in Employability field.
Experience of managing participants with long-term health conditions.
Understanding of the benefits of being in work and the relationship between employment And health and wellbeing.
