Project Accountant - Part time (20 - 30 hours a week)
Would you like a highly varied role working within a fast paced environment? We currently have a vacancy for a part time Project Accountant at our site in Portsmouth Naval Base.
As a Project Accountant, you will be sitting within the Maritime Support Delivery Framework (MSDF) project and will work alongside the Project Managers in this area. The role reports into finance as they are functionally aligned but on a day to day task basis you will deal mostly with the project teams.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Finance, Project Management and Project Controls teams as a finance business partner. The role will be for 17 hours per week
Your main responsibilities as a Project Accountant will involve:
Providing support to Project managers and ensure that project finances are maintained in line with the Financial Control Framework (FCF)
Supporting project reviews through provision of accurate and timely Contract Status Reports / Summary Status Reports
Providing updated forecast information on a monthly basis and work closely with the project delivery team to ensure forecast adherence
Liaising with external customer to provide actual and forecast data to assist in management of in year funding streams
Producing sales and margin trading plans for allocated projects and support production of budgets / financial plans
Assisting with the planning and maintenance of accurate contract Target Cost
Attending Project meetings and delivering information from a finance perspective
Your skills and qualifications as a Project Accountant:
CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified/part qualified with a view to complete the qualification
Extensive finance experience
Experience of working within a complex business model
Advanced Excel skills
Exposure to BAE practices would be desirable
Experience of working in a project environment is advantageous
