As an Order Management Agent you will be working with clients on a daily basis to problem solve, coordinate, and provide reporting based on client needs. You will be responsible for your own accounts and relied upon to be a knowledge base for all of their questions. You will be coordinating with Expeditors offices around the world and as well as the client and their offices.
To serve as a single point of contact for current OM clients and to assist them in tracking information from inception of the purchase order, through the consolidation and shipment process, to final delivery.
Keep the clients abreast of the latest developments in market related to port strikes, embargo, port congestions, regulatory and legal provisions.
Responsible for advising the clients of new system enhancements, technology, and other value added services OM has launched.
Proactively monitor various shipment reports such as the manifest report, PO status reports, container loadability report, and landed cost report (if applicable) through the OM Viewer installed at clients site to ensure data integrity and timeliness.
Proactively monitor exception reports to ensure Expeditors is meeting key event milestones within the life of a shipment.
Manage implementation and ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures for the client. Also, coordinate and manage SOP revisions and send updates to origins.
Proactively manage the ship window management report. Recognize late or potentially late orders, make sure that origin is doing the same, and communicate status to the customers. Also monitor pre and post shipping activities at origin and actively communicate any exceptions in booking, ship window, delayed release dates, inaccuracy in documentation, cargo discrepancies or anything out of the "norm" to the customer.
Proactively manage the data entry for Agent locations to ensure that the agents are submitting documents for timely entry and that the data entry center is processing them timely.
Ensure timely and accurate download of vessel manifest through EDI transmission by origin
Responsible for the development, forward movement and success of team projects
Ability to adjust to a quickly shifting priority list, ability to multi task and work with others on a number of detailed projects at any one time. Ability to maintain a list of priorities and follow up with appropriate parties as needed.
Help quantify the productivity results of each solution or tool created
Ability to learn and understand Expeditors operational systems and how they integrate with the operational work flow. Employee must have basic understanding of Word, Excel and excellent typing skills.
Data analysis skill sets of the product & operational metrics
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Meet company standards of 52 hours training per year, including as needed management/leadership training
Education and Experience:
Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
