A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Buyer, to join this leading manufacturing company that operates within the oil, gas, marine and energy industries. This is a permanent role that will suit somebody with experience of purchasing within a manufacturing or engineering background.THE ROLE
*To assist the Supply Chain function to ensure the supply of goods is efficient and complies with business strategy and operational requirements with regards to cost, lead-time, and quality and on-time achievement.
*To manage key suppliers, to ensure that most cost effective solution is reached
*Source goods/materials, services and sub-contracts, whilst negotiating the most competitive prices
*Maintain strong working relationships with key supplier accounts
*Actively monitor supplier performance and liaise with suppliers throughout the procurement process
*Report any discrepancies or issues with quality to the supplier
THE CANDIDATE
-Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment desirable
-Experience of sourcing and negotiating with suppliers
-Good organisational skills, workload prioritising, planning and the ability to work under pressure are key requirements for the role.
-CIPS qualification desirable
-Excellent communicator with suppliers and internal departments
-Experience of using SAP also desirable
