A long established IT company providing professional services and IT support to companies throughout Scotland and beyond. They are accredited by leading IT companies such as Microsoft, Citrix and VMWare to name just a few.

Responsibilities of the IT Support Apprentice:

  • Ensure all calls are answered and logged in the helpdesk before dealing with the call
  • Ensure that the helpdesk is kept up to date with any updates to calls
  • Customer documentation
  • Perform daily backup checks
  • On a regular schedule, perform manual checks of customers
  • Servers (Event logs, hardware health, disk space, etc)
  • Network services (Antivirus updates, etc)
  • Resolve customer helpdesk issues (1st line)

Requirements of the IT Support Apprentice:

  • Good verbal communication skills
  • You work very well in a team and enjoy helping others
  • You will be able to work alone when required
  • You will be friendly and approachable
  • You will have the ability to cope with multiple problems in a calm and professional manner
  • Precision, professionalism, perfectionism, flexibility, passion for new technologies and a pragmatic approach

Desirable skills

  • Driving licence & car (not mandatory; either is desirable)
  • An interest in computing (not necessarily through academia; a personal interest is useful)
  • Any IT qualification
  • Any exposure to key technologies; building PC’s, Windows Desktop, Windows Server, Virtualisation, Linux, Office 365 etc
